A Disappointing Return for Sade
REVIEW - Sade – Soldier of Love
June 16, 2010 – There’s always been an understated value to everything that Sade does and sameness to her entire repertoire. That quality of old wine has served the singer/band well… until now. Unlike Norah Jones who has, at least, tried to mix-up-the-pot, Sade really needs to stop wearing the same dress to every party. MORE

Abba and Led Zeppelin to Replace Michael Jackson? Don’t Hold Your Breath
July 4, 2009 – Perez Hilton and the Sun in the UK are reporting that Abba and/or Led Zeppelin could be taking Michael Jackson’s place at the O2 arena this summer. Why didn’t they just promise us the Beatles?

According to both sources, the concert organizers AEG Live have offered both bands “crazy money” to reform for the gigs.

Remember Zeppelin did their one-off show at the O2 in 2007 but lead singer Robert Plant has gone on record several times saying that he had “moved on” and wasn’t interested in reforming his old band.

Chances of ABBA reforming are even harder to fathom. The band has not performed together in years and Benny Andersson of the group said it’s totally false. Speaking on the Jonathan Ross show which is shown on BBC One, he said, "No-one's asked us, and if they did we wouldn't say yes," More

Abba Guys Set to Release New Pop Tunes
May 8, 2009 - Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, the two guys in Abba have been feeling very inspired since the success of the movie “Mamma Mia.’ The pair who were responsible for writing all the Abba hits just wrote their first Pop songs in 15 years but it’s not for an Abba reunion but a hotel choir.

The staff of Andersson hotel in Stockholm will record the tunes, "We all had some fun doing this. They can sing," Andersson said. The tune ‘Second Best to None’ will be released as a single in Sweden.

Another song ‘Story of a Heart” is set for release from Andersson’s own band.

The pair has refused numerous reunion offers since Abba’s break-up in the 80’s. Rumors have always circulated of ill will between the guys and the singers in the band, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog. There was also talk that the woman hated each other but both have denied this.

As for the hotel band Andresson said, "I realised that at least 20 of them were singing in amateur choirs in Stockholm, I asked them, do you want me to write a song for you and we can put it on our homepage? They said yes so that's what I did.”

"And I asked Bjorn if he would like to write the lyrics, and we recorded it with the staff. We released it as a single as well. It's just a lot of fun and its taking care of the staff at the hotel more than anything else."  - by Kari Graham

Abba Ladies Don’t Hate Each Other After All
Jan. 28, 2009 – The ladies of Abba have known each other since the late sixties. They officially became half of ABBA in 1973 and by the time the band broke up in 1982 the rumors started on how Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad hated each other. In a rare interview, released Friday, the ladies of Abba finally got their chance to set the record straight.

Faltskog, 58 and Lyngstad, 63, actually got along pretty good considering the grueling conditions of touring non-stop together.

"A lot has been written about how Agnetha and I fought and quarreled with each other. There is absolutely no truth in that," Lyngstad told the tabloid Aftonbladet. "Of course we competed, but to good effect."

Faltskog said "No, we didn't fight. But we have to live (through) a whole lot of such misinterpretations.”

Last Thursday both ladies accepted Aftonbladet's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Also last week fans on the viagogo (www.viagogo.co.uk) website voted Abba the band they wanted most to reform. They beat out Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd reunions. Abba has been offered huge sums of money before to reform but with the previous success of the group all four members certainly wouldn’t need the money – especially not the creative team of Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson.

The four members did attend the Swedish premier of the film ‘Mamma Mia’ last year. – by John Beaudin

The Top 10 most popular bands to reform in full are:
1. Abba
2. The Smiths
3. Take That with Robbie Williams
4. Stone Roses
5. Guns and Roses with Slash
6. Pink Floyd
7. Talking Heads
8. The Faces
9. Wham!
10. Jackson Five
