A Disappointing Return for Sade
REVIEW - Sade – Soldier of Love
June 16, 2010 – There’s always been an understated value to everything that Sade does and sameness to her entire repertoire. That quality of old wine has served the singer/band well… until now. Unlike Norah Jones who has, at least, tried to mix-up-the-pot, Sade really needs to stop wearing the same dress to every party. MORE

Brian Johnson from AC/DC  On The Road Solo With a New Book
November 1, 2011 - AC/DC fans would be quite pumped if the band were to tour in 2012, but one thing that is for sure is that the lead singer Brian Johnson will be on the road! He is set to do some gigs in February to promote his newly released book “Rockers and Rollers: A Full Trottle Memoir.”

The cool think about this book signing stint is that it’s a speaking and live performance combined event. Johnson will share stories from his book and two of his buds from Skid Row, guitarist Scotti Hill and bassist Rachel Bolan will be joining in.

Brian’s book details his life history and his passion for and love of cars. The lighting and production will bring the stories to life and will be done by Cosmo Wilson who also worked with Johnson on the AC/DC world Tour.

Brian Johnson was born in Dunstan in Gateshead in 1947. He joined AC/DC in 1980 and lives in Sarasota, Florida. – By Shannon Edwards

AC/DC Get Inspired Watching Their Own Movie
May 10, 2011 – The boys in AC/DC have found some inspiration via a new movie – their own! Lead singer Brian Johnson captured a new spark while watching the bands concert movie “Live at River Plate” Filmed during the huge “Black Ice” tour, which ranked as the third biggest concert trek in history, the two-year project gave Johnson a kick in the pants. He told Rolling Stone magazine  “If anyone can walk out on a stage like that and tell you they aren’t excited by thousands of fans singing at you, they’re lying.”

Johnson adds, “It never gets old – those fans are as crazy as they’ve ever been. Even if you’re tired coming on, you get there and it all happens. My rule is that if you’re not sweating when you come off, there’s something wrong.”

Interestingly, Johnson had hinted at retirement during the summer of 2009.

Guitarist Angus Young says AC/DC are now planning a new CD and tour within the next two years. He told the Sun newspaper, “We’re already planning another one. We’re thinking, ‘How can we ever better the Black Ice world tour?’ We don’t know how yet – but we will.

He said, “We’ll go out again once we get a new album out, which will hopefully be within the next couple of years.”

Brian Johnson Ponders Retirement from AC/DC
August 10, 2009 – Unlike being a postman, rockers have problems retiring. We simply won’t let them. If Tom Petty moved in next door, no matter how old he got, I’d be drinking beer in his garage waiting for him to pull out the old guitar. I think we get confused on that fact that the music lives forever, they don’t.

AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson is thinking of retiring and I say good for him. He’s 61, insanely rich so why not? According to a few sources including Johnson the band is not quite ready to let him go.  He told Classic Rock online, “We were talking about the end of the tour and I said, ‘We’re finishing in May – and that’s me done.’ But Malcolm Young said, ‘What are you talking about? We’re not gonna let you retire!’” Poor Johnson, he’s like Al Pacino in the Goodfather 3, “Every time I try to get out, they suck me back in.”

Johnson has been with the group since 1980. He replaced Bon Scott, their original singer who died from choking on his own vomit after a heavy night of drinking.

“I love being in this band” Johnson says, “but the other lads are in their early 50s. I don’t want to look a prat if I push it too far. I don’t want people to say, ‘Poor old f’ker – the band’s carrying him!  They’re just the band rock band. Every time they kick in, you’re on again and you’re thinking, ‘This is ridiculous – I’m still grooving.’”

Brian has told close friends that he’s struggling at doing concerts night after night. One friend was quoted as saying, “Some nights are better than others but he knows he’s pushing his luck to keep going. He really wasn’t sure about doing this tour, and he certainly doesn’t like the idea of another one.”

So here’s the plan – AC/CD want to record one more album and they want Johnson included, if he truly needs to quit all involved say they will not try to stop him. There is no animosity involved. Of course one more album would mean one more tour, a farewell tour. Last time I checked those sojourns can last years. – by John Beaudin

AC/DC Ticket Scam – Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap     Bookmark and Share
April 21, 2009 – AC/DC fans in Bucharest Romania are pissed in. More than 8,000 fans have been ripped-off in a 3 million scam. Fingers are being pointed at the company PlayCool which sold tickets to a bogus AC/DC show in Bucharest for their new hit album ‘Black Ice.’ The show, or no-show, had almost everyone fooled but then AC/DC who were alerted of the ploy and quickly posted a warning on their own website.

Meanwhile AC/DC fans in Canada were also not too happy when quick sell-outs of their shows in Regina, Edmonton and Winnipeg caused an online logjam causing some tickets to go to the  wrong people – scalpers.

Tickets for all three shows went on sale at the same time this past weekend which may have caused on online malfunction. – by John Rohn

AC/DC’s Brian Johnson Calls Chuck Berry an Asshole
Nov. 25, 2008 – Ever ask someone for an autograph only to be stiffed? Worse yet some celebrities are darn right rude. According to the lead singer of AC/DC, Chuck Berry is an asshole in that department, calling the legend, "The biggest piece of shit I ever met."
A clip from HoundsTV.com shows Johnson being asked by a fan if he’s ever asked for an autograph, "I asked Chuck Berry once in 1975. He was the biggest piece of shit I ever met in me life. The rudest man I ever met,” says the singer.

The clip is from 2003. He says he asked Berry for his autograph long before he was with AC/DC. He then gets asked if he signs lots of autographs for that reason, he responds, "Well I don't want to be an asshole like he was."

In 1975 he was with the band Geordie. He replaced the late great Bon Scott in AC/DC five years later. – by John Beaudin

AC/DC Debut at No. 1 in 29 Countries
Oct. 29, 2008 – Let’s face it almost everyone on the planet has at least one AC/DC album and if you’ve got one you’ve got them all. So why would everyone in the universe buy an album they already own? Maybe because this sound has stood the test of time. With bailouts, ballots and boneheads killing kids this week, I think we all need some good old fashioned Rock. The boys are back in town. AC/DC has debuted no. 1 in 29 countries!

Their new album ‘Black Ice” could easily sell 10 million copies before the end of the year and that will only be two months of sales. With Guns N’ Rose new disc ‘Chinese Democracy’ on the way on Nov. 21, it could be a rockin’ Christmas. In the era of performers who are more producer creations of Timbaland or Jay-Z, it’s refreshing to see Angus, Brian, Malcom, Cliff, and Phil back in the saddle. – by John Beaudin

AC/DC Hits the Ground Running with New CD
Oct. 23, 2008 – ‘Black Ice’ is kickin’ butt at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores. Billboard reports that the new album sold 193,000 copies in its first day of sale and could sell upwards of 800,000 this week alone.

It’s been a great week for the group as Wal-Mart stores did their part honouring the exclusive deal with huge promotions for the disc and offering fans the chance to play the AC/DC-branded version of the video game "Rock Band."

Wal-Mart’s store-within-the-store campaign offered fans the entire AC/DC catalogue and group merchandising.

This week the band said that their huge world tour sold out quickly because fans feared the band would die on stage. Tickets sold out in a matter of hours. These guys are not young bucks. Lead singer Brian Johnson who is 61 says the fans are yelling, “The singer’s 61. I’m going to that show, I might see him die.” That’s probably not going to happen, “I’ve got a fitness guy coming in from Formula 1 who is going to work with me for two weeks. He’s a specialist in stamina. He is going to work us like a dog.”

The group have 42 dates planned for North American, starting Oct 28 and a UK tour starting in April.

AC/DC to Return with ‘Black Ice’ October 20th
AC/DC New Album 'Black Ice"Aug. 20/08 – Of all the bands whose songs all sound the same AC/DC is my favourite. You can get more of the same on October 20th as they release ‘Black Ice.’ The new album will be on the bands official website and exclusively in North American Wal-Mart stores. The first single is just 10 days away, ‘Rock’n’Roll Train’ will be shipped to radio on the 28th.

This one’s the follow up to 2000’s ‘Stiff Upper Lip’ and to no ones surprise four of the new albums tunes have “rock’n’roll’ in the title. ‘Black Ice’ is produced by Brendan O’Brian.  The band’s management says the tour will coincide with the release of the album.

If you need more, ‘No Bull: The Directors Cut,’ a new version of their July 1996 Madrid show will be released on DVD and Blue-Ray. – by John Beaudin

AC/DC Signs Deal with Wal-Mart but Can Angus Get Cheap Shorts
AC DCJune 11, 2008 – Just think of the cute little shorts opportunities! Just like the Eagles, Garth Brooks and Journey before them AC/DC have just signed an exclusive deal with Wal-Mart stores. The as-yet-untitled album will be sold with free form fitting rocker shorts by George – Ok, that’s not true but we’re just saying. Brendan OBrien is producing the album to be released in the fall. The exclusive deals with Wal-Mart have worked well for the Eagles but then again “Long Road out of Eden” was a flawless album (read our review). So far it has sold over to 7 million in the U.S. alone. This will be AC/DC’s first album of new material since 2000’s “Stiff Upper Lip.”

Interestingly, AC/DC music had not been available in digital form until last August after signing an exclusive deal with Verizon Wireless. The deal however is for full album downloads. None of this one tune at a time stuff. Did we mention each download comes with short-shorts? – by John Beaudin
