Congrats to Al Green Gets Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards
June 25, 2008 – No one argues when Al Green get an award! The famous soul singer got the big one last night at the BET awards in Los Angeles. He also proved that great performers stay humble (take a hint Kanye) as Green actually apologized for his performance saying, "I'm sorry I didn't sing as well as I could. I got
scared."
The great Quincy Jones picked up the Humanitarian Award and Humble-Howard, Kanye West was Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Best Collaboration for 'Good Life' with T-Pain. Also Rihanna’s not so secret boyfriend Chris Brown was Best Male R&B Artist. Alicia Keys who won Best Female R&B Artist made us wince once again with her over the top speech, "I just want to say that we are so incredible, we are such an incredible
people. We are so beautiful and fly, and everybody wants to be like us. I
mostly want to thank all of you that are watching and standing here right
now. Without you, I really, really appreciate you very much. I want to
dedicate this to all the other nominees, because we put so much heart and
soul into everything." Yeah, Alicia, we all want to be as pretentious as you. – By John Beaudin
