A Disappointing Return for Sade
REVIEW - Sade – Soldier of Love
June 16, 2010 – There’s always been an understated value to everything that Sade does and sameness to her entire repertoire. That quality of old wine has served the singer/band well… until now. Unlike Norah Jones who has, at least, tried to mix-up-the-pot, Sade really needs to stop wearing the same dress to every party. MORE

Fergie Has Her Own Formula for Addiction
November 1, 2010 – When it comes to addiction Fergie says it's all a matter of choice when it comes to recovery. Back in 2001 the Back Eyed Peas singer was addicted to crystal meth and she's proud to say she is totally recovered. “I’m not claiming to be sober,” says Fergie, “I think that that would be misleading. I drink alcohol. My father has a vineyard, and the wine is really delicious, by the way.”

“Anyway, for most addicts, they would advise never to have any sort of substance. I just have my own journey, and I am very blessed to this day to be alive.”

Fergie told Glamour magazine that she had her doubters, “There were periods of my life when a lot of people didn't believe in me. I still had faith in myself. I really had to ask myself life questions. Where do I see myself in five years? Create a ladder for yourself, and walk up the steps. Climb that ladder."  - by John Beaudin

Fergie Puts Babies On Hold For Music
June 14, 2010 – Fergie says there will be lots of time for kids but, for now, her life circles around husband and actor Josh Duhamel and her band Black Eyed Peas. “Everyone tries to rush you into everything in the press these days,” say the singer,  “but for me right now it’s all about Black Eyed Peas – there’s no room in my schedule to have a child.”

Fergie adds, “Even if I wanted to get pregnant, there’s no way I could perform on stage and be pregnant, I would feel too guilty.” She says it’s clear that once the babies come they will be first. “One thing at a time for me. There’s a saying, I forget who said it, but it was a really good quote that said women can have it all, just not all at once. It’s too much if you’re doing everything all at once.” – by John Beaudin

Perez Hilton Calls Will.i.am a “Faggot” and Gets His Ass Kicked
June 23, 2009 – Has Perez Hilton gotten too big for his own britches! That seems to be the case for some people. Following the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto on Sunday the famous blogger was allegedly punched by Black Eyed Peas road manager Polo Molina at a nightclub in the city.

Molina turned himself in to Toronto police and was charged with assault yesterday.

Turns out Hilton got into a heated discussion with Black Eyed Peas member Fergie and Will.i.am at the Cobra nightclub early Monday. Hilton called Will.i.am "faggot," a gay slur after the musician told the blogger not to write about the Black Eyed Peas on perezhilton.com.

Hilton continued the anti-gay slurs on his website video saying, "He was like 'You need to respect me.' He was in my face. He was obviously trying to intimidate me and scare me, I was like 'I don't need to respect you. I don't respect you and I did say this, and I knew that it would be the worst thing I could possibly say to him because he was acting the way he was. I said 'You know what, I don't respect you and you're gay and stop being such a faggot.'"

Hilton who is openly gay was with singer Lady Gaga, who he promotes, almost at nauseum on his website and claims he was punched, from behind outside the club.

Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, has also angered the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) with his anti-gay slurs. GLAAD said that his diatribe was "dangerous.”

Rashad Robinson, Senior Director of Media Programs told eonline.com, "These are vulgar antigay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community. For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is 'The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,' is incredibly dangerous."

"It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting antigay attitudes."

Robinson also said, "We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this antigay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story."

On his video Perez said, "Violence is never the an answer No matter what anyone says ... another person should never be hit. ... I know that I say things that can really upset people. That's never a reason to hit someone. I've been doing this for five years now, and nothing like this has ever happened to me. ... I've never had someone attack me like this. It's wrong, and I'm not going to stand for it. And Will.I.Am made a video and he lied. Will.i.Am is a coward and a disgusting human being for lying. And I'm making this video because I want to make it clear that I would never make up something like this. I would never lie about something so serious."

Perez continued, "Will.i.Am  comes into the club, sees me [and], like a heat-seeking missile, comes directly towards me and he says, 'Yo I need you to do me a favor, I need you to never write about my band on your Web site again,' right in my face, he was saying this, very aggressively. I was not wanting to antagonize him. ... He was screaming, and I said 'Listen, I can't make any promises, but I'll try,' And then he says 'Why are you disrespecting me?' ... And that's when I made the split-second decision that I was going to say what I thought was the worst possible thing that a thug would ever want to hear. ... I told him, 'And you know what, I don't need to respect you ... and you're a f--. You're gay and stop being such a f----t.' And I knew that was going to set him off, but I didn't want to get into a fight with this person, so we leave. [He] followed me outside of the club ... then his manager, Polo, whom I have met before, from behind, comes up to me, clocks me in the eye and punches me two or three times. I am in shock. I just did not know what to do."

We certainly don’t condone violence against Hilton or anyone but we think Perez has to do some checking in here. – by John Beaudin
