A Disappointing Return for Sade
REVIEW - Sade – Soldier of Love
June 16, 2010 – There’s always been an understated value to everything that Sade does and sameness to her entire repertoire. That quality of old wine has served the singer/band well… until now. Unlike Norah Jones who has, at least, tried to mix-up-the-pot, Sade really needs to stop wearing the same dress to every party. MORE

Jon Bon Jovi Comes Back From the Dead It’s a Festivus Miracle!
December 20, 2011 – If death rumors are started to give us all freakin’ heart attacks then I would say mission accomplished to the jerk-ass who had us believe that singer Jon Bon Jovi was dead yesterday. As they say “oops, I crapped my pants!”

First off, Bon Jovi is not dead. Turns out the rumor was started via a reworked press release that was originally used for Michael Jackson’s death. Yesterday the story broke like wildfire, all over Twitter and Facebook.

Last night Bon Jovi joked about the incident at a concert in New Jersey. On his Twitter account he posted this message, "Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey" -jbj. Rest assured that Jon is fine!"

The story was first posted on "dailynewbloginternational" but they had nothing to do with the hoax. Welcome back to the land of the living Jon! – by John Beaudin

Jon Bon Jovi Does Good Deed!
October 23, 2011 - Last week Jon Bon Jovi opened up a “pay what you can afford” restaurant in Red Bank, N.J. with the help of his wife, Dorothea. The restaurant called the “Soul Kitchen” was actually a former auto body shop that they transformed into an eating establishment. Customers are asked to pay what they can and in return receive gourmet- type meals in a cozy, upscale environment without the feeling of visiting a soup kitchen.

This is the latest program offered through Bon Jovi’s Soul Foundation and Jon says, "There's no prices on our menu, so if you want to come and you want to make a difference, leave a $20 in the envelope on the table. If you can't afford to eat, you can bus tables, you can wait tables, you can work in the kitchen as a dishwasher or sous chef.”

Bon Jovi and his wife are hands on and also volunteer in the kitchen and what use to be a gravel driveway in the front of the restaurant is now a beautiful garden full of vegetables and herbs! Bon Jovi added Wednesday at the kitchen's opening, "This is a place based on and built on community -- by and for the community." Way to go Jon! Good deed done!

Ritchie Sambora Heads Back to Rehab
April 28, 2011 – Looks like Bon Jovi’s Ritchie Sambora has fallen off the wagon! The guitarist has checked himself into rehab.

Substance abuse has been a problem for Sambora for a few years. In 2007 he spent some time at the Cirque Lodge in Utah for his addictions and was back at it (recovery) later that year at the UCLA Medical Center.

Sambora is still, of course, with Bon Jovi but the show must go on!…without him! The upcoming dates for the band will be kept and a spokesman for the band said Sambora “Will be absent from upcoming shows for the time being.” He added, “We very much look forward to his healthy return.” – by John Beaudin

Live Earth Cancelled After Mumbai Shootings
Nov. 29, 2008 – The Live Earth show scheduled for Sunday December 7th has been cancelled due to the Mumbai shootings. Bon Jovi, Pink Floyd's Roger Waters and Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am were all set to perform at the charity.

Organizers said they we’re, “shocked and saddened by the tragic events of the last few days” and that everything was cancelled.

Over 200 people were killed when gunmen rushed a hotel, a rail station and a Jewish centre.

The Climate Project India charity was set to benefit from the proceeds of the show. Its aim is to provide solar power to rural Indian homes that don't have electricity.

There are rumours that the show will be rescheduled for mid-2009 at another location. – by Kari Graham

Bon Jovi Greatest Hits and Live DVD Set for Fall 2009
Nov. 19, 2008 – Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora says the band will be busy for the next while preparing projects that will only see the light of day in late 2009. "We've been filming a documentary and are in the process of mixing a live DVD of last year's Lost Highway concert tour," he told Billboard. There’s also a Greatest Hits package for release next year and some new tunes which Sambora says are being written right now with John Bon Jovi for a new album.

The band last CD ‘Lost Highway’ was a huge hit for Bon Jovi but Sambora is clear that the band wants to move on, "We have to change. We have to do something different," he said. "I don't know what that's going to be. As we get into the writing process and continue on, we'll see what that's going to look like. I think it comes to stylistically what songs you're writing. What kind of music is coming out of you, and what's the mood of those songs. You have to color those little drawings with the right production value and the right music." Triumph, the Dog could not be reached for comment.  – by Chelsie Dickson
