Still Hope for Rod Stewart to Rejoin The Faces Ronnie Wood says, "We haven't ruled Rod out, it's just that his schedule isn't crossing over exactly when we wanted him - he's not available. The guitarist adds, "The door isn't closed on Rod, but we're just carrying on because it's worth it." Wood says even though they are happy with Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall as their new lead singer others could be included in the fold. He says the tour should happen in January 2011 and may include Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes and/or Noel Gallagher of Oasis. "Other people were in the running,” says Wood, “There was Kelly Jones out of the Stereophonics, but they're busy at the moment." – by John Beaudin

Reformed Faces Set for Vintage at Goodwood Without Rod Stewart Wood says: “We got together to receive a PRS Lifetime Achievement award last year and very simply the magic was still there. Playing with the boys again just felt right so we thought well why not? It’s exciting to be on this path again and I hope that the Faces fans are excited as we are – I’m just really looking forward to seeing them this summer – bring it on!” In June 2008 Stewart made hints of a possible Faces reunion, which would include shows and a new CD. In November of that year the singer said he and Wood, McLagan and Jones would be rehearsing, "Just to check if they can remember the songs,” but early last year Stewart said there would be no Faces tour for him. Ronnie Lane, the bands original bassist, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a few years after leaving the group. He died of pneumonia on June 4th 1997. – by John Beaudin |
