A Disappointing Return for Sade
REVIEW - Sade – Soldier of Love
June 16, 2010 – There’s always been an understated value to everything that Sade does and sameness to her entire repertoire. That quality of old wine has served the singer/band well… until now. Unlike Norah Jones who has, at least, tried to mix-up-the-pot, Sade really needs to stop wearing the same dress to every party. MORE

John Mayer Introduces New Custom Guitar

January 23, 2012 - John Mayer has been out of the spotlight since he cancelled numerous gigs last year to undergo throat surgery. His decision to finally go under the knife was necessary after attempts to rest his voice did not help. In the meantime, John had to regroup and push back the release of his new album.

He still continues to recuperate and although not 100% with his voice Mayer made his first public appearance attending the National Association of Music Merchants Conference in California to introduce his new custom made guitar with Martin, “Rolling Stone”reports.  His limited edition of these six string guitars will be sold for $14,000 and only to select dealers.

John also has a new album “Born And Raised” due out later this year and this ties in nicely for him getting back in touch with his musical roots.- By Shannon Edwards

Twitter Has Shrunk John Mayer’s Brain
July 12, 2011 – As most of you may know John Mayer has stopped using Twitter. He told students at Boston’s Berklee College of Music that the social media site shrunk his creativity according to a report in Rolling Stone magazine.

“I realized about a year ago that I couldn’t have a complete thought anymore, and I was a tweetaholic, I had four million Twitter followers, and I was always writing on it. And I stopped using Twitter as an outlet and I started using Twitter as the instrument to riff on, and it started to make my mind smaller and smaller and smaller. And I couldn’t write a song.”

The singer says social media is not always the answer to promoting music as long as the music is good. “This time is a really important time for you guys because nobody knows who you are, and nobody should,” he said. “This is not a time to promote yourself. It doesn’t matter. This is the time to get your stuff together. Promotion can be like that. You can have promotion in 30 seconds if your stuff is good. Good music is its own promotion.”

Mayer says he wants his new album to have an earthy feel, “Here are the rules for recording this record: No drum machines, no loops, no keyboards to start out with, no excuses, no breaks, no laptops, no nothing, If you take a break, it’s to eat. If you’re done, you go home.” – by John Beaudin

Please God, No! John Mayer back with Jennifer Aniston
Oct. 15, 2008 – It’s bad enough that we had to endure Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz or the Hills nauseating Heidi Montag and fake boyfriend Spencer Pratt but now John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston are back together. I don’t believe they are or ever were a couple. It’s publicity and it’s working. Let me get a little crazy here, I think that even when babies are involved some Hollywood couplings are huge planned publicity stunts. Then again Aniston never did anything for me so maybe I’m a good taco short of a good mexi meal. The pair were spotted in L.A. two days ago sucking each others faces. The spotter said, 'They were very lovey-dovey. They kissed several times and hugged each other tightly. John gave her a long, lingering kiss.' Aniston, 39, was rumored to be calling Mayer, 30, everyday to get things back on track. Interestingly the couple is back together as she starts a promotional tour for her new films 'He’s Just Not That Into You’ and 'Marley and Me’ and he is on a world tour. It’s publicity with free sex. Maybe they’ll get married and have they’re baby pictures on the cover of People magazine? – by John Beaudin

John Mayer, the Real Love Guru
John Mayer Leaves Jennifer AnistonAug. 20/08 – It’s great to finally hear a celebrity make some sense. John Mayer told TMZ that he and Jennifer Aniston broke up because he didn’t want to waste her time. The singer called her one of the “most lovely people” and added "It's the most normal thing in the world. There's no lying there's no cheating.” As he was pouring his guts out the clip shows a reporter from another entertainment outlet asking, “Are you dating anyone new?” to which Mayer, who is visibly frustrated says, “How could you ask me that? Haven’t you heard a word I’ve said?” John Mayer, one/nothing! He goes on to say, "Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I've ever met. She's one of the most lovely people I've ever met in my life.” He confirmed that he broke off the relationship, "People have different chemistry, they have different lives. It's not about years, it's about going out with somebody, being truthful on the way in, being truthful in the middle and being truthful on the way out. You're either a cheater or you break up and I'm not the first, I'm the second. And that's it. There's no lying, there's no bullshit."  Mayer is 30, Aniston is 39.

The short street interview actually shows the artist, not being a smart alec what he’s famous for but truly sensitive and vulnerable. He told TMZ, "I guarantee you there’s 20 per cent of the people on the street right now who are in a relationship they wish they could get out of but they don't know how. And I'm going to be honest on the way in to my relationships and I'm going to be honest on the way out of my relationships. I'm sorry that the story's not interesting. But it's about time that somebody stands up for that girl and I think she's great." – by John Beaudin

Jennifer Aniston Has Fangs
John Mayer and Jennifer AnistonJuly 3, 2008 – She seemed so nice in ‘Friends.’ First off, this sounds more like the script to ‘The Hills’ than something that really happened, but remember, don’t punish the messenger. Folks around John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston are reporting that the former ‘Friends’ star has some jealousy issues. Last Sunday in London the pair reportedly had an old flame of Mayer’s kicked out of a show, the Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park. Aniston has been with Mayer for three months and seems to be running the show. Mayer’s ex named Kimberly was spotted backstage and she was quickly asked to leave. A source said, “She has fallen head over heels for John, but she’s scared it will all go wrong again, like her marriage to Brad Pitt.” Interestingly, Kimberly then showed up in the front row of the show waving like Gilligan after the shipwreck. The source added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “She had been told twice by security that she would be removed but she just stood there. John spotted the potential problem and told his security to get rid of her at all costs.” Here’s a question, would it kill John Mayer to start maybe dating a key grip? Of the billions of people on earth he can only date movie stars? Let’s just say there’s a possibility the whole thing is a publicity stunt but if that’s true doesn’t that make Mayer a huge dork? – by John Beaudin
