Jan 31, 2012 - Good news for all the Norah Jones fans out there! The singer is set to release a new album in spring called 'Little Broken Hearts.' This will be Jones' fifth studio CD and she will be joined by producer and musician, Danger Mouse who is notably the backbone for the project. He also co-wrote many of the tunes with her. 
Jan 24, 2012 - Bruce Springsteen is full speed ahead with his new album due out in March. “Wrecking Ball” will be his 17th studio album and is produced by heavy hitter Ron Aniello (Patti Scialfa, Jars of Clay) and talent thrown in from Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machines) and members of the E Street Band. 
January 24, 2012 - It’s a done deal as Paul has announced (via his website) that he will be preforming at the 54th annual Grammy Awards in L.A. on Feb 12. This is also a very special occasion for him as he’s nominated this year for Best Historical Album for "Band On The Run." McCartney is definitely no stranger to the stage and if he pulls this one in it will be his 15th Grammy win in all. 
January 23, 2012 - John Mayer has been out of the spotlight since he cancelled numerous gigs last year to undergo throat surgery. His decision to finally go under the knife was necessary after attempts to rest his voice did not help. In the meantime, John had to regroup and push back the release of his new album.

January 19, 2012 - Steven Tyler of Aerosmith never ceases to amaze me. He sat in on an Ellen DeGeneres show recently and proceeded to explain why he decided over the Christmas holidays to marry girlfriend Erin Brady. 
January 14, 2011 - Aerosmith fans will be watching as Steven Tyler is about to get really comfortable in his seat for his second round of American Idol. Ever since he joined the panel for this vocal talent show last season Tyler says sales of Aerosmith’s back catalog has rose 260 percent. July 26, 2011 - Although Dan Peek left the group America in 1977 he is certainly not forgotten as a member of the famous band. Peek passed away on July 24 of undisclosed causes. He was 60. Metallica Ready To Write New Tunes The drummer told Pulse of Radio, 'There's a bunch of balls in the air for 2011, but I think the main one is we really want to get back to writing again. We haven't really written since, what, 2006, 2007 and we want to get back to kind of just being creative again.” He adds, “Right now we are going to just chill out and then probably start up again in, I'd say, March or April and start probably putting the creative cap back on and start writing some songs.” The current tour is supporting their 2008 album “Death Magnetic.” – by John Beaudin

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame To Celebrate 25th Anniversary with Bruce Springsteen, U2, Simon and Garfunkle and More The foundation will celebrate with two shows (October 29 and 30) at New York City's Madison Square Garden. This is one night when Metal will find a nice home with soul and it’ll all make sense. The Hall promises some interesting pairings including Crosby, Stills Nash & Friends and Simon and Garfunkle on stage with some surprising unlikely colleagues. All proceeds from the shows will help raise money for a permanent endowment for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation and Museum. More |

Metallica Going After Rapid Share Downloader’s
In January 2008 Rapid Share started a legal defence case against GEMA (the German version of the RIAA). They claimed the content of the sites downloads was not their responsibility. GEMA has other ideas and the courts agreed spelling out expectations for the company. Now each file has to be checked before reaching its destination. The problem is Rapid Share only hired six new staffers to do the job. Good luck with that! Meanwhile Metallica says they will continue hunting down the folks who steal their music. A few weeks ago legal action was taken against three owners of the Torrent search engine Pirate Bay. Most artists’ rights organizations feel that it’s more cost effective to go after the file sharing companies instead of individual music fans downloading the albums. – by Chas Dordie |

Metallica Goes for Another Friday Release with ‘Death Magnetic’ This did make us question the whole Tuesday release date. So why does everything, DVD’s and music get released on Tuesday? We did a little digging. Most sources agree that it all began in the 80’s and 90’s that’s where the similarities end. The Rocky Mountain News, in their ‘Wacky Question’ section from August 11, 2000 wrote, A Google article responded to this however, “The above is only coincidentally correct. The "street date" became Tuesday in the mid-90's, when media distributors (movies, video, music etc) consolidated the previously wild street dates to cut shipping and tighten on early releases. They instituted stringent restrictions to retailers in an effort to keep the playing field fair. Nonetheless, larger chains such as Target and Wal-Mart continually put their product out as early as the previous Wed or Thurs. The Tuesday date gives usual ample shipping time for equal distribution around the nation. Distributors routinely receive product around a week in advance, unless their is extreme paranoia from the studio or record company. They are continually fighting against getting the product into the consumers hands, while also trying to prevent illicit exports. Hence region coding.” – by Kari Graham

Feb. 18, 2009 – It’s Christmas for Metallica fans. The group is set to release loads of albums in digital form on March 31. The downloads will only be available via iTunes.
Oct 2, 2008 – It’s good to be king! I guess we all really missed Metallica as they’re still at no. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums list. The new album ‘Death Magnetic’ had a 61% sales drop this week and still managed to stay on top. It sold 132,000 in the U.S. alone last week. ‘Magnetic’ is only the second album this year to claim three straight weeks on top the chart. Jack Johnson did it earlier with ‘Sleep Through the Static.’
August 5, 2008 – Though most people may not notice, most albums are released on Tuesdays but again Metallica will throw a wrench in the system by giving us their new CD ‘Death Magnetic’ on a Friday. They did the same with 2003’s ‘St Anger.’ The bands label says they picked Friday to prevent pirating on the net – not sure why that helps. 
May 15, 2008 – Maybe Lars Ulrich does more than watch “Golden Girls” reruns all day after all. The famous metal drummer and the rest of the boys in Metallica are being productive busy-bees trying to make the release of their first album in five years unique for the fans.
