Zac Starkey Gives Props to Oasis and The Who
May 20, 2009 – As the son of Ringo Starr, Zac Starkey has a lot to live up to but the young drummer says his toughest and most rewarding gigs were with Oasis.

He calls the group, “the most inspiring band I’ve ever worked with”. Adding, “Liam, Noel, Gem and Andy are some of the smartest musicians I’ve ever met. I played with Oasis for four years and literally spent every day crying with laughter.”

Starkey has drummed for the Spencer Davis Group, the Icicle Works, Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden, Paul Weller and most recently The Who. He explains that even though filling in for the late great Keith Moon was difficult, playing Oasis’ song was just as tough, “It was just as difficult as it is with the Who. It’s irrelevant that there are more fills to play in the Who. I’d get all these wanker drummers saying, ‘Oh man, I could do the Oasis gig with one hand tied behind my back.’ Well, you may be able to – but it’ll sound shit mate! More

Liam Gallagher Is Wearing his Mouth Upside Down Again and Tells His Brother to F*ck Off
May 13, 2009 – I’m not sure if this is a case of enmeshment or abandonment but the Gallagher brothers of Oasis are at it again. This time lead singer Liam is lashing out at guitarist brother Noel for even thinking of doing a solo album. 'I could do that, but I don’t want to do that. I’m in Oasis, you know what I mean? Says Liam. “If everyone starts going off doing solo records then you might as well just f***ing split the band up. I’m part of a band and that’s the way it is. If you go on going off doing solo records then there’s no Oasis. Someone’s got to be here keeping it together.'

Liam also said that the worst part of touring was "being in a band with your f**king brother".

The brothers are known having a love/hate relationship and for creative use of the “F” word.

Maybe growing up they idolized the Kinks. Lets’ remember that memorable day when Dave Davies tried to steal some of brother Ray’s french fries and was promptly stabbed in the chest by Ray. Oops, I hope I didn’t give Liam any ideas. – by John Beaudin

China Says “No” to Oasis
March 4, 2009 – China has told Oasis, “We love your music but your politics stink.” The band won’t be performing in the country after officials within the Chinese Ministry of Culture found out that Noel Gallagher was at a Free Tibet benefit concert in New York City in 1997.

A statement from the band said, "Oasis are extremely disappointed that they are now being prevented from undertaking their planned tour of mainland China and hope that the powers that be within China will reconsider their decision and allow the band to perform to their Chinese fans at some stage in the future.”

Some think that Bjork might have made Chinese authorities a little skittish after her reference to Tibet in Shanghai last year – a big no, no. Elton John and the Rolling Stones did have the opportunity to sing in China but their politics were non-existent.

Oasis Breaking Records
Oct 25, 2008 – They may come off like dinky-dorks but Oasis still have that magic touch. The band’s 2009 stadium tour broke sales records yesterday with 500,000 stubs sold in England. Sales were so good that tour organizers added last minute shows at London’s Wembley Stadium and Manchester's Heaton Park.

Chris York of the Oasis promotions team says, “This has to be the most tickets ever sold by an artist in the UK in one day.”

Things keep getting better for the controversial band who have had problems finding members who can get along with the temperamental brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. Their first ever headline concert at Dublin’s Slain Castle has also sold out. Ticketmaster says, “80,000 tickets snapped up, in record time this morning, without doubt one of the fastest selling concerts I’ve ever witnessed....and I’m 25 years in this business.”

The band’s management seizing on the moment issued the following statement, "This proves Oasis continue to go from strength to strength and increase in popularity. Following their fantastically received arena tour this Autumn and critically acclaimed new album, these will be the must see shows of 2009."
