A Disappointing Return for Sade
REVIEW - Sade – Soldier of Love
June 16, 2010 – There’s always been an understated value to everything that Sade does and sameness to her entire repertoire. That quality of old wine has served the singer/band well… until now. Unlike Norah Jones who has, at least, tried to mix-up-the-pot, Sade really needs to stop wearing the same dress to every party. MORE

Paul McCartney to Perform at Grammy’s
January 24, 2012 - It’s a done deal as Paul has announced (via his website) that he will be preforming at the 54th annual Grammy Awards in L.A. on Feb 12. This is also a very special occasion for him as he’s nominated this year for Best Historical Album for "Band On The Run." McCartney is definitely no stranger to the stage and if he pulls this one in it will be his 15th Grammy win in all.

Paul is keeping the pace steady leading up to the Grammy’s with his upcoming album release of “Kisses On The Bottom” scheduled to come out Feb 7th. This will be his fifteenth solo studio album and the fans are excited since his last album was almost five years ago.

McCartney has also been named the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year and that is for recognition of a musician’s artistic and philanthropic efforts. Hats off to you Sir Paul!  – By Shannon Edwards

Paul McCartney Gets His Girl! Set to Marry Socialite Nancy Shevell
May 7, 2011 – No one deserves a nice girl more than Paul McCartney. The ex Beatle is getting married to socialite Nancy Shevell. It’s almost like she actually loves Paul for Paul, not his money!

McCartney has dated Shevell for the last four years. The pair went off on a scenic road trip across the famous Route 66 in August of 2008.

Paul’s publicist Stuart Bell confirmed the engagement saying,  "We're all thrilled for him."

Shevell is 51 and McCartney is 68. The pair were first spotted together in Long Island's Hamptons area in late 2007. Congrats Paul! – by John Beaudin

Paul McCartney Set to Release Rare First Non-Beatles Project
May 1, 2011 – Things are not always what they seem. Most people accept that Paul McCartney’s first solo album was “McCartney” released on April 17, 1970. Actually, there was a little known soundtrack that the Beatle worked on with the band producer George Martin. It was for the 1966 film “The Family Way” which is about to get an official re-release on July 26th.

The soundtrack was originally billed as The George Martin Orchestra when released in 1967 but McCartney sings and plays bass and piano on 13 tracks – it’s basically all him and an orchestra. It did get a CD release in 1996 but had new material from Canadian guitarist Carl Aubut. This new re-release will be a polished up original of what first saw the light of day in 67.

The soundtrack includes 13 original McCartney tunes.

Paul McCartney Digs Kings of Leon
November 1, 2010 – It's not uncommon for old rock stars to mumble about the 'good old days,' and  trash whatever heir apparent that gets in their way but Paul McCartney says he's diggin' the new bands on the scene.

The 68 year old former Beatle told Britain’s The Sun, “I think there’s a lot of great music around, I really do,” he said. “You get someone going, ‘Oh, it’s not like it was in my day!’ I say, ‘No, it’s different. It isn’t like it was in your day. And actually some of it is better.’”

Sir Paul added, “I like Kings of Leon, I think they’re really cool, I like Plan B, he’s good. He has really got it, you know, a good singer, man.”

McCartney has just released a deluxe version of his classic album “Band on the Run.” The original cover featured celebrities like Christopher Lee and James Coburn. The sun asked Paul who he'd feature on the cover if the album was released brand new today, He said, “Tom [Meighan] from Kasabian. Then next to him Beyonce Knowles, looking a bit sort of scared, Then we’d have to get Bob Dylan and Neil Young. We could have Ricky Gervais. I need a sportsman - Usain Bolt? I’d have to have Barack Obama, too. I’d give him a ring.” - by John Beaudin

Paul McCartney’s Daughter Controls his Touring
May 26, 2010 – It sure sounds like Paul McCartney is a responsible dad. The former Beatle say he never tours when it’s his turn to look after his daughter Beatrice – his child with ex-wife Heather Mills.

“What happens is, I don’t work when I have my little one,” says McCartney.  “I’m actually on the road very much half the time. So when I do tour, I’m kind of hungry, and the concerts are usually quite choice – it’s Hyde Park, or it’s the Isle of Wight, or it’s Coachella.”

'The thing is, when I’m on tour, it’s quite visible and people say, 'God you’re so busy.’ I’m actually not. Not compared to how The Beatles used to tour.'

The singer’s life with Mills was marred by drama and gossip but he’s in a much better space now and with a new lady American heiress Nancy Shevell.

McCartney, never one to take anything for granted, says he’s always pleasantly surprised at the younger generation checking out his shows. He told Seven Magazine, “The audience now, strangely, is this multigenerational thing that I’d never expected. You’re getting people that are older than me, people of my age, people of my elder kids’ age and then their kids’ ages. So there are normally about four generations. I find it quite emotional. Its amazing.” – by John Beaudin

Paul and Ringo Reunite to Introduce “Beatles – Rock Band”
June 2, 2009 - Microsoft's Electronic Entertainment Expo in southern California was invaded by The Beatles yesterday, well, at least Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. The two surviving Beatles along with John Lennon and George Harrison’s widows, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison unveiled the new Rock Band video game inspired by the Fab Four.

"Whoever thought we'd end up as androids?" joked McCartney as he got up on stage with Starr.

"The Beatles: Rock Band," which will be released on September 9, will differ from other versions of the game, in that it will feature three-part harmonies and replicas of the original band’s instruments.

Paul McCartney on the Verge of Marrying Someone Who is Not a Gold-Digger?
Jan. 28, 2009 – I wonder if Paul McCartney would like a do-over when it comes to Heather Mills. He would have a chance to lock eyes with Heather, notice her beautiful hair, her smile and then he could slowly turn around and run faster than shit off a shovel.

After a costly divorce (he paid over $50 Million) Paul is free and dating Nancy Shevell, who has tons of cash. The pair has been spotted at auctions, on the beach and this past summer on Route 66 in a vintage car – just for the fun of it.

Now there’s a rumor that Paul is ready to pop the question. Her divorce to lawyer Bruce Blakeman became final in December and Paul’s kids, including Stella who hated Heather, are giving Daddy their blessings.

This would be Paul’s third wife. His first love, Linda, died of cancer in 1998.

Shevell will be McCartney's third wife if the couple do marry. His first wife, Linda McCartney, died from cancer in 1998. In 2006, he filed for a divorce from Heather Mills, after four years of marriage.

Funny Thing is Paul and Ringo Don’t Add Up to Half of the Beatles
Jan. 17, 2009 – In a perfect world all four Beatles would be planning a huge comeback tour together and dropping by for chips and beer. A close runner up would be John and Paul doing duo acoustic shows but instead we’re left with Paul and Ringo. Certainly still the show of the year but it still leaves you wishing. Speaking with Barbara Walters, McCartney said he’s desperate to work with Ringo again.

He said, "We don't rule it out - it would be great. He's a great drummer and we're used to each other. Let's hear it for Ringo."

McCartney also came to Ringo’s defense for refusing to sign anymore autographs, "Why doesn't he sign his autographs anymore? I think that is so ballsy. If he doesn't want to spend his day writing to people, he's allowed. I love you Ringo."

Sir Paul also added that he was proud to have worked with John Lennon, "I look back on it now and I am just very proud to have been John's collaborator. I mean we were just kids. We just lucked into each other. We were just so easy with each other."  - by John Beaudin

Paul McCartney Disappointed In Plant-less Zeppelin Tour
Dec. 3, 2008 - Everybody loves a good reunion – even Paul McCartney. I think it’s safe to say if all the Beatles were alive some sort of reunion would have happened. McCartney has said though it would not be the Beatles without all the parts. Three out of four of the Zeppelin formula is alive and though a Zeppelin reunion is not impossible, like a Fab-Four miracle, it’s looking grim. Now, McCartney says it should not happen without the voice of Robert Plant, "What's happened to Planty? He was great at their gig. It's such a pity.” He also said that it wouldn’t be the same without Plant.

Interestingly, now Jimmy Page’s management says that the partial reunion will not be called Led Zeppelin. Alter Bridge lead singer Myles Kennedy is the leading candidate to replace Plant. – by John Beaudin

Paul McCartney Wants to Give you More Beatles
Nov. 17, 2008 – If three out of four Beatles say something is crap, is it? The real question is, would you still want to hear it? Paul McCartney hopes so. In an interview with BBC Radio 4, McCartney says he has this 14 minute Beatles jam called ‘Carnival of Light’ that’s improvised, "I said it would be great to put this on because it would show we were working with really avant-garde stuff." The tune is so rare it hasn’t even been bootlegged. Recorded in 1967 for the Electronic Music Festival the Million Volt Light and Sound Rave and only aired once, the tune was deemed “too adventurous” for the anthology package by George Harrison.

"I said all I want you to do is just wander around all the stuff, bang it, shout, play it, it doesn't need to make any sense," says McCartney. "Hit a drum then wander on to the piano, hit a few notes, just wander around. So that's what we did and then put a bit of an echo on it. It's very free."

McCartney now hopes to get permission from Ringo, who is the only other surviving Beatle, John's widow Yoko Ono and George's widow Olivia.

On ‘Carnival of Light’ Lennon and McCartney scream random phrases including "Are you all right?" and "Barcelona!”

According to author Mark Lewisohn, the tune features "distorted, hypnotic drum and organ sounds, a distorted lead guitar, the sound of a church organ, various effects including water gargling. Barry Miles says it’s similar to the Frank Zappa song "The Return of the Son of Monster Magnet." – by John Beaudin

Rare Beatles White Album on Sale on Ebay
Nov. 15, 2008 – Rare and Beatles. That’s a combination that’s bound to cost you lots of money. If you like the Fab Four’s ‘White Album.’ Check out this piece of history. It’s one of only 5 numbered copies of the historic album which has sold over 19 million copies.

John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr each received numbered copies 0000001 to 0000004 but you could own 0000005. This print #5 was named number 1 on the list of the 200 Rarest Records of All Time by Record Collector magazine. The album looks like any other version of the white album, this one is in mono, has an embossed title and stamped serial number.

The auction ends on Nov 23, the day after the 40 year anniversary of the albums release. At press time the bidding was up to £ 2050.00 or 3,046.29 USD. Expect it to get much higher.

Here is what the Ebay seller says about the rare 0000005 ‘White Album.’
Some years ago, this album was taken into the collectors shop named 'Vinyl Revival Records' in Newbury, Berkshire, England by a musician (they did not disclose who) who had visited John in the flat that he shared with Yoko in late 1968 (that was owned by Ringo) at 34 Montague Square, Marylebone, London W.1. The musician saw a pile of White Albums on a table and asked for one. John readily agreed, but said 'Don't take No.1 - I want that'. Instead he took No. 5'.
The album then passed into the hands of Beatles specialist dealer 'Good Humour' who then sold it to its current owner who has now commissioned me to sell it on his behalf.

Heather Mills Could Be Broke By 2009
Oct. 24, 2008 – Most people split the house after a divorce. Heather Mills got 30 million and she’s spending it fast. Perez Hilton.com reports that Mills has already spent $ 12 million of her settlement. Paul McCartney’s former wife has even asked him to buy her a $5 million home. Yeah, I’m sure Paul will get right on that. Hilton reports that Mills’ high maintenance lifestyle has cost her $600,000 in staff wages alone, $1 million renovating a house, $3 million on a flat in New York and $7.5 million on other homes.

Mills has yet to settle her large bill from Michele Elyzabeth, her former publicist who called her “a calculating, pathological liar and the biggest bitch on the planet.” Oh, come on Michele, You’re just saying that cause its true! – by John Beaudin

Paul McCartney Looking for Songwriting Partners
Oct. 13, 2008 – Everybody gets lonely, even Paul McCartney. The music legend says he prefers to work with other artists while writing and in the studio , “I like having a collaborator. Otherwise I get the feeling of being an absentminded professor alone in his laboratory all day.” Sir Paul says the transition from the Beatles to his first solo disc was rough, “I did the first solo McCartney record all on my own. It seemed a bit lonely. There’s a track on there that’s about 10 minutes long. Try playing maracas for 10 minutes in a row on your own. I was standing in the room thinking, 'That’s it – I’ve really lost the plot.” The 66 year old singer says he actually hates working alone.

McCartney’s new project is 'Electric Arguments’ with side project The Fireman. He says the project was scary for him considering the recording was entirely improvised. He said: “I had to make a disclaimer to the engineers. I said this could be the most embarrassing moment of my life. It was thrilling, but it could have been a terrible mistake. I could ruin my whole career.”

Obviously he “Passed the audition.” – by John Beaudin
