Paul Rodgers has had Enough of Queen
May 13, 2009 – It looks like the honeymoon is over between Queen and legendary singer Paul Rodgers. He told VH1, "We did a world tour, we did a second tour of Europe and the Far East and Eastern Europe and a studio album (The Cosmos Rocks) and I think we're kind of leaving it there gently."

True grit Queen fans were baffled by the choice of Rodgers who sounds nothing like original lead singer Freddie Mercury, who died at 45 on November 24, 1991.

Rodgers did leave an opening for a future one-off show, "It's out there for us to do things in the future if there's something - a huge charity say like Nelson Mandela - but I think we are pretty much done."

In 2008, this new version of Queen released “The Cosmos Rocks” which was a commercial and critical disappointment. The band did however play to over a million people on their last tour.

Meanwhile, Rodgers looks set to reform Bad Company, at least for a little while. With 10 shows planned with the group’s original guitarist Mick Ralphs and drummer Simon Kirke this summer, there could also be an album in the works. – by John Beaudin

Bad Company Plans One-Show Reunion
Bad Company ReunionJuly 3, 2008 – Most of the original line-up of Bad Company are getting back together for one gig only on August 8. Paul Rodgers say’s there are a few reasons for the concert and one is legal, "What I'm doing is protecting the legacy that we have built ... cementing the rights to the trademark Bad Company for touring," Rodgers says because of a bogus Bad Company band with plans on touring. "I can't really go into that because it's kind of in the hands of our lawyers at the moment. But there are a lot of things that make it necessary to reinforce our rights here.” He says the one night stand will cement the bands trademark and to coax the fans into knowing which band is real. The August show will be as real as possible with Rodgers on lead vocals, original guitarist Mick Ralphs and drummer Simon Kirke. Bassist Boz Burrell died in 2006 so Lynn Sorenson from Rodgers solo band will fill in. The big show is on August 8 at Seminole Hard Rock and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Meanwhile Rodgers says the Queen album he’s working on with Brian May and Roger Taylor is almost finished, "We're in great shape, actually," Rodgers says. I think it touches a lot of emotions. Every song is different from every other song, but I do think there is a very powerful emotional content in every song. I'm a great believer in variety in music, and so are the other guys." – by John Beaudin
