A Disappointing Return for Sade
REVIEW - Sade – Soldier of Love
June 16, 2010 – There’s always been an understated value to everything that Sade does and sameness to her entire repertoire. That quality of old wine has served the singer/band well… until now. Unlike Norah Jones who has, at least, tried to mix-up-the-pot, Sade really needs to stop wearing the same dress to every party. MORE

Miley Cyrus Calls Perez Hilton an Idiot over Crotchless Pics
June 18, 2010 – It seems with every post Perez Hilton is making more enemies but this time he may be in real hot water. The blogger posted a picture of 17-year-old Miley Cyrus supposedly without underwear(turns out the pics were fake) that could potentially be considered child pornography.

Cyrus told Ryan Seacrest, "That's like, some idiot being an idiot -- that's not me, you know what I'm saying?"

“Seems like the whole world is thinking I posted a photo of Miley’s vagina without underwear on,” said Hilton. “Do you think Miley is that stupid to be out in public without panties?”

The picture was taken off the site but the damage has been done. Now reports are saying the picture was changed using Photoshop but the law states that he could still be in trouble. Real picture or Photoshop, it makes no difference in the eyes of the law.

I think it’s safe to say many celebrities would like nothing more than Perez to disappear. The blogger constantly attacks actors; reality stars and musicians but few have attacked him back in fear of his wrath. That kind of power can be dangerous and though we doubt that Perez will face charges it’s only a matter of time before karma will come knocking on his door and kick him in the face.  – by John Beaudin

Perez Hilton Calls Will.i.am a “Faggot” and Gets His Ass Kicked
June 23, 2009 – Has Perez Hilton gotten too big for his own britches! That seems to be the case for some people. Following the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto on Sunday the famous blogger was allegedly punched by Black Eyed Peas road manager Polo Molina at a nightclub in the city.

Molina turned himself in to Toronto police and was charged with assault yesterday.

Turns out Hilton got into a heated discussion with Black Eyed Peas member Fergie and Will.i.am at the Cobra nightclub early Monday. Hilton called Will.i.am "faggot," a gay slur after the musician told the blogger not to write about the Black Eyed Peas on perezhilton.com.

Hilton continued the anti-gay slurs on his website video saying, "He was like 'You need to respect me.' He was in my face. He was obviously trying to intimidate me and scare me, I was like 'I don't need to respect you. I don't respect you and I did say this, and I knew that it would be the worst thing I could possibly say to him because he was acting the way he was. I said 'You know what, I don't respect you and you're gay and stop being such a faggot.'"

Hilton who is openly gay was with singer Lady Gaga, who he promotes, almost at nauseum on his website and claims he was punched, from behind outside the club.

Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, has also angered the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) with his anti-gay slurs. GLAAD said that his diatribe was "dangerous.”

Rashad Robinson, Senior Director of Media Programs told eonline.com, "These are vulgar antigay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community. For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is 'The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,' is incredibly dangerous."

"It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting antigay attitudes."

Robinson also said, "We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this antigay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story."

On his video Perez said, "Violence is never the an answer No matter what anyone says ... another person should never be hit. ... I know that I say things that can really upset people. That's never a reason to hit someone. I've been doing this for five years now, and nothing like this has ever happened to me. ... I've never had someone attack me like this. It's wrong, and I'm not going to stand for it. And Will.I.Am made a video and he lied. Will.i.Am is a coward and a disgusting human being for lying. And I'm making this video because I want to make it clear that I would never make up something like this. I would never lie about something so serious."

Perez continued, "Will.i.Am  comes into the club, sees me [and], like a heat-seeking missile, comes directly towards me and he says, 'Yo I need you to do me a favor, I need you to never write about my band on your Web site again,' right in my face, he was saying this, very aggressively. I was not wanting to antagonize him. ... He was screaming, and I said 'Listen, I can't make any promises, but I'll try,' And then he says 'Why are you disrespecting me?' ... And that's when I made the split-second decision that I was going to say what I thought was the worst possible thing that a thug would ever want to hear. ... I told him, 'And you know what, I don't need to respect you ... and you're a f--. You're gay and stop being such a f----t.' And I knew that was going to set him off, but I didn't want to get into a fight with this person, so we leave. [He] followed me outside of the club ... then his manager, Polo, whom I have met before, from behind, comes up to me, clocks me in the eye and punches me two or three times. I am in shock. I just did not know what to do."

We certainly don’t condone violence against Hilton or anyone but we think Perez has to do some checking in here. – by John Beaudin

Hilton, a former GLAAD employee, Says...

"I am saddened GLAAD chose to victimize me further by criticizing me for how I non-violently dealt with a very scary situation that, unfortunately, turned violent. While I doubt I will get an apology from GLAAD, nor do I expect one, I would just hope people know how difficult it is to intellectualize a situation and think rationally when a thug disguised as a musician is screaming at your face and intimidating you. I am just very fortunate and grateful that nothing more serious happened to me."

A New Statement from Perez Hilton

From the heart:

"Words can hurt. I know that very well, from both sides of the fence. The other night in Toronto, after feeling physically threatened by a verbally abusive Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas, I chose the most hurtful word I know to hurl at him. I was in an out-of-the ordinary situaton and used a word that I would not utter under normal circumstances. My intention - however misguided it may have been - was to stand up for myself and tell this belligerent man that I had enough of his badgering and was not going to continue to let him berate and intimidate me. I wanted to hurt him with the word I chose, not anyone else. Unfortunately, the one who got hurt was me and, subsequently, a lot of other people. I wish none of it had happened. I can't take it back. I did what I thought was best at the moment to stand up for myself in a non-violent yet still assertive way. Clearly, I am not homophobic. Also, I am not nor have I ever claimed to be a spokesperson for the gay community. I am just speaking for myself, a gay man. One who is labeled "flamboyant" in the media. An American that is not granted equal rights under the law. I will continue to speak out for equality and I will continue to say things that upset both gay people and straight people. Who I am as a person and what I do for a living are two separate things. I've come to terms with all my incongruities and am proud of who I am and what I do. In closing, words can hurt. But words should not provoke someone to violence. Stripped away from the mask of Perez Hilton, I have been extremely bothered by the public reaction to my assault. Violence should never be condoned with such statements as "It's Karma" or "I don't believe in violence but….". In fact, several television and radio shows over the past couple of days echoed the sentiment "He had it coming". Would they have said the same thing if I was a woman? Would I have "deserved it" if I had been stabbed? Or shot? Or killed? I was attacked from behind without warning and repeatedly punched in the head in a cold, disgusting and unnecessarily violent manner by Polo Molina, the road manager for the Black Eyed Peas, who I did not even speak with that evening. I did not share any words with him and his assault on me was completely unprovoked. I feel like everything happens for a reason and I leave this traumatic experience as a person with more compassion. Specifically, there was an instance last year when actor Jesse Metcalfe was attacked outside of a Hollywood nightclub by a fellow entertainer. I did not condone the violence, but I did make light of that situation. I regret that. Sincerely. There are many ways to deal with disagreements, both good and bad, but violence is never the answer. Never. I now know that first-hand. It should not be condoned, promoted or accepted. No one "deserves" to be the victim of violence. No one "has it coming." NO ONE. And victims should not be ridiculed. I look forward to marching for equality in Washington, D.C. this October. And I look forward to standing up for my rights in a Toronto courtroom shortly, as I fully intend to seek every lawful remedy against the man that attacked me."

Pink Denies Being Bisexual on Twitter
May 4, 2009 – According to Perez Hilton, “Pink is bisexual.” According to Pink it’s “100% fabrication.” The famous blogger says that the singer admitted to UK’s News of the World, "I'm not embarrassed about being bisexual. This is who I am. Love is pure and I try to keep it that way. This is who I am, what I feel. I think it's unnecessary to draw the subject out, but I think it even more stupid not to discuss it. It seems as if bisexuality is a trend and I should whip up the masses. Well, I don't believe in trends, I just believe in me."

The problem with that is that Pink says it’s all crap. Here is what she posted on her own Twitter account, “I just read that i'm bisexual. so 1991. Good thing people write articles about me so I can get my facts str8. I mean straight. read on people” then she said “PerezHilton 100% FABRICATION,” adding “ cant WAIT for the day when people stop talking about sexual preference or that a woman is a CEO and actually start making the world LIVEABL.” More

Where's My Teeth? Is Perez Hilton a Music Dork? Blogger Calls Heidi Montag’s New Tune a “Hit”
April 3, 2009 – I like Perez Hilton’s blog; he knows how to stick it to "media vultures" even though he may be a media whore himself. His war on Avril Lavigne is infamous but this passive aggressive media queen may have overstepped just a bit, well, a lot. This week, he called Heidi Montag’s new song a “Hit.” Perez, are you experimenting with aerosol? This tune is “Rico Suave” bad, it makes “Barbie Girl” sound like “Hey Jude.”

He called her tune ‘Your Love Found Me’ a “ska/pop banger that reminds us of No Doubt’s classic (song) Bathwater.” Perez, maybe you lost your objectivity when Heidi and Spencer went to your birthday party a few days ago and judging from the responses on your site most fans also thought something didn't smell right, Perez visitor, ‘truthurtsssss’ summed it up perfectly:

“Perez you suck, your whole page is about you and the celebrities you have become friends with, remember when you hated Heidi??? Now there are a few pictures of you and her together and surprisingly her music is great now…..I want the old Perez back, the one who doesn’t spend 90% of his time reporting on himself.”

I've been a Music Critic a long time and I know how fast the memory of a painful album can fade when you meet the artist face-to-face. It’s always hard to imagine that the smiling person across from you was responsible for that nail in your eardrum but you know what? Nice people record turd infested music all the time but in this case it's Heidi Montag, nice has nothing to do with it.

In promotions, musicians are almost always nice. In fact, they are usually blatantly kissing your ass because they want something. Media promotions was built on butt kissing, it's the main ingredient. It's the unwritten rule, the secret dance, but I understand that. The star needs the exposure and the media needs the interview - everybody's happy and hey, the media does their own ass-kissing. Is there an entertainment TV show that doesn't do that?

Do you think Heidi and her scum-fritter boyfriend Spencer actually like Perez Hilton? He has done nothing but crucify the pair to everyone's delight because of their insidious nature. Who is more hated on celebrity blogs? Now Perez gives thumbs up to her piece, a doggy-doo-doo? Something smells.

Perez is turning into a joke and he obviously knows nothing about music. Taking music advice from Perez Hilton is like asking Amy Winehouse to be your sponsor. Even if he claims this is an April Fools joke to save face, it’s too late. Perez, when you get home from your bubble bath with Lily Allen and Avril you might want to read your own blog responses. – by John Beaudin
