Adam Lambert has Open Invitations from Kiss and Queen Brian May of Queen told Rolling Stone magazine, "(we) are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with at some point. It's not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn't that easy. But I'd certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.” |

Paul Rodgers has had Enough of Queen True grit Queen fans were baffled by the choice of Rodgers who sounds nothing like original lead singer Freddie Mercury, who died at 45 on November 24, 1991. Rodgers did leave an opening for a future one-off show, "It's out there for us to do things in the future if there's something - a huge charity say like Nelson Mandela - but I think we are pretty much done." In 2008, this new version of Queen released “The Cosmos Rocks” which was a commercial and critical disappointment. The band did however play to over a million people on their last tour. Meanwhile, Rodgers looks set to reform Bad Company, at least for a little while. With 10 shows planned with the group’s original guitarist Mick Ralphs and drummer Simon Kirke this summer, there could also be an album in the works. – by John Beaudin |

Brian May Says He Didn’t Know Freddie Mercury Was Gay The guitarist told Britain's Daily Express, "No, I didn't know. I don't think even he was fully cognizant in the beginning. You're talking to someone who shared rooms with Fred on the first couple of tours, so I knew him pretty well. I knew a lot of his girlfriends and he certainly didn't have boyfriends, that's for sure. I think there was a slight suspicion, but it never occurred to me that he was gay." Mercury, who died in 1991, had a way of hiding his sexuality says May, "I remember Freddie being asked if he was gay in one of his early interviews and he said: 'Yes, darling, of course. I'm as gay as a daffodil'. It was a neat way of sidestepping the issue because actually, Freddie was no fool. I know that all through his life Fred didn't think that whether he was gay or not was important. He loved music, he love his work, and he didn't want anything to get in the way. Anyone who portrays Fred as purely a gay story is missing a lot of the point." – by Kari Graham |
