Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen Garners Terrible Reviews: Only 20% Approval Rating on Rotten Tomatoes.com So far this is their consensus: “Revenge of the Fallen is a noisy, underplotted, and overlong special effects extravaganza that lacks a human touch.” Ouch! John Anderson of the Washington Post said, “What's wrong here is that there's so much swirling, relentless action, indistinct robot characterizations and over-caffeinated techies loose on the special-effects machines that the movie, in mere seconds, achieves incoherence. “ Victoria Alexander of FilmsInReview.com said, “I hated every 149 minutes. This is so bad it's immoral. Michael Bay is a time-sucking vampire who will feast off your lost time. This is why the movie is so long.” A few other biting reviews: “If you want to save yourself the ticket price, go into the kitchen, cue up a male choir singing the music of hell, and get a kid to start banging pots and pans together. Then close your eyes and use your imagination.” – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
“Michael Bay’s 150-minute celebration of attention deficit disorder is like a July 4th fireworks display that doesn't end until July 8th and makes you swear off Roman candles for life.” – Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal Linkin Park is back in the fold contributing music for “Revenge of the Fallen.” In 2007 they had one tune on the soundtrack, this time around they contributed to the score. Mike Shinoda says, "So he basically took those themes and turned them into string arrangements, horn arrangements, all this stuff, and he had us come in and listen to them, and he proposed to do more of that for the score of the film but with us involved. And to be honest, it blew our minds. We're part of his machine now. We're working on the score of the film!" The soundtrack also includes Green Day, The Fray and Cheap Trick among others. Though the movie has been criticised as being too loud much of that is blamed on the robots effects. The soundtrack is getting good reviews. Robert Fure of filmschoolrejects.com named the soundtrack under his `10 Things I liked About Revenge of the Fallen.` He said, ``Not only is this movie just plain loud, but it’s blasting out some pretty awesome tunes as well. The score is pretty tight and the soundtrack definitely has some good music on it. I’m planning on buying both.`` My son and I have watched the first movie more than 50 times, even my wife liked it and she hates special effects extravaganzas. I never expect critics to love these kinds of movies so let’s see what happens. Movie starts in two hours. – by John Beaudin

She’s the type of musician you might walk up to at a party, ask about her music, and walk away three hours later regretting the question. This lady has a vision so you better have a seat.

January 23, 2012 - John Mayer has been out of the spotlight since he cancelled numerous gigs last year to undergo throat surgery.
