Belinda Carlisle Admits to Taking Cocaine for 30 Years & Keeps Her Nose
June 9, 2010 – Belinda Carlisle says she’s happy to have a nose. The Go-Gos singer admits in her new memoir, ‘Lips Unsealed’ that she took cocaine for 30 years.

I am lucky because I seem to have made it through unscathed,” says Carlisle, “I don’t look like I’ve been through the gallows. Hey, I’m lucky that I have a nose!”

She almost died binging on cocaine in 2005 and says she considered suicide more than once. “Maybe my memory isn’t as great as it could have been, but I think it’s coming back too. It’s by the grace of God that I’m here.”

Carlisle told Parade magazine, "Well, just toward the end, when my cocaine use got so bad, and I was carrying around so much shame, and I just didn't know a way out of it.” Then came rehab via her 18-year old son James. The singer’s biggest fear was that James might find her dead one morning. More

Marvin Isley Dead at 56
June 8, 2010 - Marvin Isley of the Isley Brothers, died on Sunday at a hospice near his home in Chicago. He was 56.

Known as the bass foundation for the famous R&B groups sound, Isley had suffered from diabetes (the cause of his death) for 20 years.

The first phase of the Isley brothers in the late 1950’s/early 1960’s was as a vocal group that included brothers Ronald, O’Kelly and Rudolph. By 1973 Marvin joined the band and helped create their strongest period. In fact The band's first album with Marvin, 1973's '3+3,' went platinum. From 1975 to 1980 the Isley Brothers had 14 Top 10 R&B hits on Billboard including “Fight the Power Part 1,” “Harvest for the World,” and “Livin’ in the Life.”

Marvin split from the fold with Ernie and Christ and formed Isley-Jasper-Isley in 1984. Their biggest hit was “Caravan of Love” in 1985. More

Sting Happy to Meditate with Carlos Santana
June 7, 2010 – Both Sting and Carlos Santana performed at last month Mawazine Festival in Morocco and it was what happened behind the scenes that brought a little kumbaya to the world presses. The pair had a chance to meditate together.

Sting said, "He's [Santana] a very serious man a very spiritual man. I sat with him before his show and we all meditated together and prayed that the concert would be a good one and that the people would enjoy the date and understand the message that he was trying to give would be received."

Both are known for their deep spiritual practices. Who could forget Sting’s famous Police chant, “We are spirits in the material world” and his tireless “giving back” via charity concerts and leadership to make the world a better place. More

Jeff Beck to Honor Les Paul
June 8, 2010 – Expect a Les Paul love-in at Jeff Beck’s upcoming New York stop. The legendary guitarist will tip-the-hat to his old friend on June 8 and 9. The latter date would have been Paul’s 95th birthday and the esteemed Iridium Jazz Club, where Paul played almost weekly for years, will be the spot of the all star tribute.

Beck says, "When I first heard Les Paul playing 'How High the Moon,' I thought, man, that's what I want my sound to be like. Now, here I am years later and he's still a powerful influence in all that I do."

Joining Beck for the tribute shows will be Irish rockabilly sensation The Imelda May Band. More

Songwriters Hall of Fame Honour 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'
June 7, 2010 - As the classic Simon and Garfunkel song 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' celebrates it’s 40th Anniversary there seems to be more cause for celebration. The legendary tune is set to receive the 2010 Towering Song Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Paul Simon who wrote the tune in 1969 is set to attend the ceremony on Thursday, June 17 at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel.

“Bridge over Troubled Water” won the GRAMMY Award for Record of the Year and Song of the Year in 1971. It topped the Billboard charts on February 28, 1970 and stayed there for 6 weeks. More

Still Hope for Rod Stewart to Rejoin The Faces
June 7, 2010 – As The Faces prepare for a full-on reunion tour there seems to be a little hope that Rod Stewart will rejoin the legendary 70’s band.

Ronnie Wood says, "We haven't ruled Rod out, it's just that his schedule isn't crossing over exactly when we wanted him - he's not available. The guitarist adds, "The door isn't closed on Rod, but we're just carrying on because it's worth it." 

Wood says even though they are happy with Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall as their new lead singer others could be included in the fold. He says the tour should happen in January 2011 and may include Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes and/or Noel Gallagher of Oasis. More

Gwen Stefani Feels Safe in London 
June 6, 2010 – In a world where the paparazzi are more common as corn Gwen Stefani says privacy and safety are more important than ever, especially for her kids. The No Doubt singer, who is married to former Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale, says London England has brought her security and convenience.

Stefani says, “I don’t drive when I’m there and I like that. It’s a different lifestyle to be able to walk to the little village and get milk. I take Kingston to the gym with me, with no nanny or assistant and that would be very rare in Los Angeles – that I could actually go somewhere on my own. Things can get out of hand with the paparazzi, so I don’t feel safe.”  More

LeAnn Rimes Admits The Her Affair with Eddie Cibrian Was “Selfish”
June 5, 2010 – Things that make you go DUH! LeAnn Rimes might be concerned about her image after all the terrible publicity surrounding her affair with Eddie Cibrian. She’s finally speaking out after sites like Perez Hilton.com and TMZ have been ripping her to shreds.

Now she says  “I did one of the most selfish things that I possibly could do, in hurting someone else.” The 27 year old adds, “I take responsibility for everything I’ve done. I hate that people got hurt. But I don’t regret the outcome.”

While filming the TV movie ‘Northern Lights’ in 2008 the pair were constantly spotted getting all cutesy and they seemed to make things worse by denying anything was going on. More

June 4, 2010 – Have you ever Googled yourself? You might be surprised by what you find, Meatloaf certainly was.

The singer says, “I Google myself every once in a while, like when someone tells me about an article that upsets me. The world should be more about truth than it is.” He says the amount of lies about him on the internet is amazing.
