The Air-Com Radio Network Ready to Launch into Rock on October 3rd
September, 2011 – After a healthy life in syndication in the eighties Rock History Book is making a comeback as a full-fledged radio station on October 3rd..
The Air-Com Radio Network is proud to announce the launch of their first Rock Radio Station – Rock History Book. The name may sound familiar to stations in North America since it was also the name of a 30-second feature heard on multiple stations from 1985-1989. “This will be Rock history on a whole other level,” say John Beaudin, Operations Manager of Air-Com, “I think this station is a way for me to come back to my roots in Rock.”
Popular writer Steve Burgess was the first host of the syndicated, short version, of Rock History Book in 1985. Later Beaudin took over the feature until 1989.
The Internet station will feature music from every decade of Rock n Roll but will focus mostly on the seventies first. “This is a station for anyone who grew up in the sixties, seventies and eighties,” say Beaudin, “But we will certainly also play new music including the latest Blink-182, Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.” One of the stations slogans is “Rock History Book, because music history starts- Right Now!”
Another interesting fact about Rock History book is the station will not play any slow tunes. “We might slow down a tiny bit for Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd,” says Beaudin, “But really this is a kick-ass type of station and it’s all about a constant energy.”
Rock History Book will feature both smart and iPhone apps for listening on the go.
The Air-com radio station currently streams the popular Smooth AC, R&B/Pop station, Smooth Jazz Now. The company also consults and builds Internet radio stations from the ground up for their clients.
